Aaron Bunn, Head of Secondary & Capital Markets, Trinity Mortgage Oak
Aaron currently serves as the Head of Secondary and Capital Markets for Trinity Oaks Mortgage. He started in the financial industry in 2007 before making his switch to the mortgage industry in 2016 at Trinity Oaks Mortgage. Aaron has developed a strong and efficient hedging strategy to give Trinity Oaks Mortgage a competitive edge in the marketplace by utilizing technology, business partners and market knowledge he has gained throughout his years here. With over 14 years of experience in finance and mortgage, Aaron brings a diverse skillset and knowledge base to Trinity Oaks Mortgage.
Amy S. Creason, CMB Director, Secondary Execution Strategies, Freddie Mac
Amy S. Creason, CMB, has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of capital markets subjects including pricing, hedging, trading, contract finance, transaction management, and investor relations. Amy presently serves Freddie Mac as Director of Secondary Market Executions by leading a relationship management team focused on secondary marketing third-party providers, including product and pricing engines, loan origination systems, risk management systems, and whole loan trading platforms. Previously, Amy led the Capital Markets practice at Newbold Advisors, a nationwide management consulting and professional services company focused on the mortgage industry. Prior to joining Newbold, Amy held various capital markets risk management positions at SunTrust Mortgage and Fleet Mortgage.
Andrew Rhodes, Director of Trading, MCT
Mr. Rhodes began his career with MCT in 2005 as the company’s first dedicated loan sale specialist. He initially created investor specific models to accurately produce market based mandatory pricing for all pricing aspects in MCT including rate sheet generation, best executions, and fair market valuations.
Ben Itkin, Managing Director of Business Development, MCT
Mr. Itkin brings more than 17 years of mortgage and capital markets experience to MCT’s management team. He is highly regarded in the mortgage industry, holds deep knowledge in secondary marketing, loan pricing and pipeline hedging. He has been instrumental in expanding and working closely with MCT’s team of trading analysts to provide hands-on service to clients.
Bill Petersohn, Managing Director of Business Intelligence, MCT
Mr. Petersohn is a former director of GMAC Bank in the Bulk Acquisition Group where he was responsible for National Accounts and Bulk Sales and Operations. Mr. Petersohn has been directly responsible for developing and supporting several acquisition programs that include Assignments of Trade, Direct Trades, Bulk Purchases, Fannie Mae 3D.
Bill Shirreffs, Senior Director of Sales Operations, MCT
Mr. Shirreffs brings extensive industry experience in capital markets, structured transactions, credit risk, mortgage insurance, strategic planning and sales leadership to MCT. Prior to MCT, Shirreffs gained broad secondary experience with both Fannie/Freddie (17 years), where he ultimately became Vice President, responsible for oversight of the West Region for both organizations. Due to his deep experience on Fannie’s Cash Window, Bill was tasked with becoming one of the principal architects of Fannie Mae’s “Live Pricing”, the Industry’s first electronic whole loan committing platform.
Brent Nyitray, Chief Financial Officer, Ark Mortgage
Brent Nyitray, CFA is the Chief Financial Officer of Ark Mortgage, a retail mortgage originator in New York. Prior to that, he was Director of Capital Markets at iServe Residential Lending. He is the author of The Daily Tearsheet, www.thedailytearsheet.com, a blog covering financial markets, mortgages and real estate.
Brett Hively, Senior Vice President, Mortgage & Capital Markets, Ameris Bank
Brett Hively is a seasoned Mortgage & Finance professional whose dedication as a lifelong achiever coupled with his strategic nature have both earned him the reputation as an innovative leader within the finance space. Throughout the course of over two decades, he has garnered extensive firsthand industry knowledge, enabling him to become a go-to trusted finance resource for each and every valued client and institution he has served. Since 2018, Brett proudly serves as Senior Vice President of Ameris Bank Mortgage. Prior to Ameris Bank, he held various other leadership roles for multiple esteemed companies, including but not limited to the Managing Director and Partner of Deephaven Mortgage, a Varde Partners company and Vice President at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.
Curtis Richins, President, MCT
Mr. Richins is a respected banking executive experienced in international finance, marketing, risk management, and business operations. He has worked extensively in Western and Eastern Europe in addition to his US-based mortgage banking experience. Mr. Richins is knowledgeable in all aspects of mortgage pipeline hedging and best-execution loan sales.
Chris Anderson, Chief Administrative Officer, MCT
Mr. Anderson joined MCT in 2012 as a Division Manager charged with organizing and building MCT’s newly formed Outsourced Lock Desk Division. In 2013, after successfully growing the Lock Desk Division and establishing it as the industry standard for outsourced lock desk services, he was promoted to the Executive Management Team as Senior Vice President. In late 2015, his increasing contributions to MCT were recognized when he was promoted to his current role as Chief Administrative Officer.
Dan Sugg,CMB, Chief Mortgage Lending Officer, Michigan First Credit Union
Dan Sugg has spent over 26 years in the mortgage industry, filling every role from loan officer to president and has led teams as large as 700. Dan started his career with GMAC Mortgage in 1997, and he has worked in both large banks and independent mortgage companies. Dan currently serves as Chief Mortgage Lending Officer for Michigan First Credit Union. In this role, Dan oversees sales, operations, secondary and servicing. Dan joined Michigan First Credit Union in late 2016 and has led the purchase and integration of Michigan First Mortgage (a CUSO) into Michigan First Mortgage, now a division of Michigan First Credit Union. Michigan First Credit union is celebrating its 95rd year in the industry, has approximately 165,000 member and has over 1.25 billion dollars in assets.
Greg Vacura, SVP, Correspondent Pricing, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
Greg has oversight on all of the pricing functions related to Wells Fargo Funding. He manages all of the revenue analytics, hedge firm and product price engine vendor relationships, the best effort lock desk (Priceline), and the Mandatory Trade Desk including whole loan trades and bid tape process. Greg has been with Wells Fargo for 27+ years. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family and friends along with hunting and fishing.
Jon Grafflin, CMB, AMP - Correspondent Channel Executive, Essex Mortgage
Mr. Grafflin has been a Mortgage Banker for over 20 years. His experience spans across multiple disciplines in both Retail and Correspondent environments, including leading National sales organizations and running origination Channels on multiple occasions. He has earned both his Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designations from the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, and currently serves as a Director of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association.
Keynote: Michael Fratantoni, MBA Chief Economist, MBA
Michael Fratantoni is MBA’s Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Research and Industry Technology. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing MBA’s industry surveys, benchmarking studies, economic and mortgage originations forecasts, industry technology efforts, and policy development research for both single-family and commercial/multifamily markets. Additionally, Fratantoni is president and member of the Board of Directors of MISMO and serves on the CSP’s Industry Advisory Group and the membership committee of MERS.
Mike Quinn, Managing Director, Pricing, PennyMac
As Managing Director for Production Pricing, Michael Quinn is responsible for overseeing all activities related to mortgage pricing, margin management, and transaction management for each of the production channels of PennyMac. Cross Departmental responsibilities include PennyMac’s CRA distribution network and other whole loan activities.
Paul Peterson, Senior Vice President, Glacier Bancorp
Paul is an industry vet with over 30 years of experience in both the primary and secondary sides of the market. He spent 10 years with Fannie Mae developing products for the primary and secondary markets and led the early development of Desktop Underwriter. He has originated, processed and underwritten loans as well as managed all functions including mortgage loan servicing. For the last 15 years he has run the mortgage division for commercial banks that included managing MSR retention strategies. For the last 7 years he has run the mortgage division for Glacier Bancorp, which will originate around $2.5B in mortgage loans in 2020 and has a servicing portfolio around $1.5B with $1B being servicing retained. He has served on the Suntrust Mortgage Advisory Committee as well as various committees with national mortgage coops and is currently serving on the board of directors for Western Security Bank, Division of Glacier Bank as well as the ICBA Housing Finance Committee.
Phil Rasori, Chief Operating Officer, MCT
Mr. Rasori is a recognized thought-leader in capital markets operations within the mortgage banking community. His areas of expertise include complex financial modeling, computational dynamics, and linear programming for operational optimization. He developed the ground-breaking mortgage pipeline hedging algorithms that form the foundation of MCT’s HALO Program today.
Phil Laren, Director of MSR Services, MCT
Mr. Laren has more than 30 years of experience in Capital Markets, predominantly in servicing. He is experienced in all aspects of servicing, modeling, pricing, trading, negotiating, hedging, risk analysis, accounting analysis and operations. He is also very experienced building teams and managing traders & analysts.
Robert R. Branthover, Managing Director, Huntington Securities, Inc.
Rob has formally worked for ED&F Man Capital Markets, MIAC Analytics, Lehman Brothers, Chase Home Finance, and JPMorgan Chase. At ED&F Man Capital Markets, Rob covered Mortgage Originators and at MIAC Rob was the Co-Headed up the Hedge Advisory business. At Lehman Brothers, Rob was a Fixed Income Salesman in the Bank Specialist Group and headed of the Community Banking Team. While at Chase, Rob was responsible for the Jumbo/Alt-A Fixed-rate Mortgage Pipeline. He was charged with pricing, hedging, selling, or securitizing this product segment into the secondary markets. Rob spent many years in the Interest Rate Risk Management at Chase, where he was directly involved with hedging the bank’s Assets and Liability’s mismatch as well as the Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR) Portfolio.
Rob Chrisman, Owner, Chrisman LLC
Rob Chrisman began his career in mortgage banking – primarily capital markets – 33 years ago in 1985 with First California Mortgage. He is on the board of directors of Inheritance Funding Corporation, a financial services company which advances capital to heirs, of Doorway Home Loans, of AXIS Appraisal Management, and of the California MBA. He is also a member of the Secure Settlements Advisory Board, an associate of the STRATMOR Group, and of the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas and its membership committee. Rob has provided expert witness services for mortgage and real estate-related cases, has lectured to groups around the country.
Steve Pawlowski, Senior Vice President, Head of Capital Market Journey, Fannie Mae
Steve Pawlowski is the Senior Vice President, Head of Capital Market Journey in the Single Family Digital Products organization. Steve leads product development for the conduit & capital markets business and responsible for providing execution tools, business solutions, and services through customer engagement, design thinking, innovation and agile delivery.
Previously, Steve was responsible for leading the ongoing strategic evolution of the Customer Engagement business and the overall management of customer-facing solutions such as Desktop Underwriter, activities associated with the company’s mortgage products, and the development of servicing solutions for the market.
Wendy Johnson, Director of Secondary Marketing, Silverton Mortgage
Wendy Johnson is the Director of Secondary Marketing for Silverton Mortgage in Atlanta, GA. Johnson’s oversight and direction have been an integral part of the company’s growth from 10 employees to more than 200 employees in her 11 years with the company. Johnson takes pride in the role she played in taking Silverton Mortgage from a small correspondent lender generating $10M per month in originations to $2B in fundings. The recent acquisition of Silverton Mortgage by Vanderbilt Mortgage allowed Johnson the opportunity to transition the company from a 100% released platform to a servicing retained platform in a very short time. She has extensive experience in trade execution, hedge management, delivery oversight, investor management and agency delivery. Prior to joining Silverton, she served as the Director of Capital Markets for AME Financial in Atlanta, GA for over 5 years. Her employment began in the lock desk and quickly moved to rate generation and pipeline management for their portfolio in the transition from best efforts locking to hedge management.
