The Mortgage Bankers Association

The Mortgage Bankers Association seeks to create an environment that enables its members to invest in communities and achieve their business objectives. The association creates this environment by developing innovative business tools, educating and training industry professionals, providing a gathering place for the sharing of ideas, acting as the industry’s voice on legislative and regulatory issues, and developing open and fair standards and practices for the industry.

The California Mortgage Bankers Association serves to represent the residential and commercial real estate finance industry before all governing bodies. CMBA encourages and promotes sound business practices and honesty in marketing, origination, lending and servicing of mortgage loans through our educational and networking opportunities.

The Texas Mortgage Bankers Association

The Texas Mortgage Bankers Association has been serving members since 1917.  Members of the Texas mortgage banking community have turned to Texas Mortgage Bankers Association for its leadership in industry education, legislative initiatives and peer interaction. Today, TMBA’s purpose is still to serve the mutual interests of its members in order to preserve, enhance and advance the mortgage banking and real estate finance business in the State of Texas.


The Community Mortgage Lenders of America (CMLA) was founded out of concern that emerging federal policies threaten to severely diminish community based lending, while increasing concentration among the nation’s largest financial institutions, to the detriment of competition and consumers. CMLA represents over 80 of the leading independent mortgage bankers and lenders in the country, generating an annual volume of almost $100 billion in mortgage loans.

The Mortgage Bankers Association of New England

Massachusettes Mortgage Bankers Association (MMBA) was founded in 1976 and is the largest mortgage association in New England and is recognized as one of the most successful in the country. We offer the most comprehensive member services to over 225 corporate members throughout the region. Today, our membership includes regular members, divided equally between depository institutions, mortgage companies and wholesalers. Affiliate members represent 30% of our membership and represent providers to the mortgage industry including title, credit, appraisal, insurance, technology, legal, accounting and consulting, among others.

The Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas

The Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas, Inc. (MBAC) represents companies that participate in the mortgage lending industry within North and South Carolina. MBAC members include residential and commercial mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers, wholesale lenders, savings & loan associations, commercial banks, credit unions, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and companies that provide affiliated services to mortgage bankers.

Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association

Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association (MMBA) Founded in 1949, the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association is an organization committed to helping its members conduct business and ensuring the continued strength of the real estate finance industry and mortgage lending field.

SAS 70 Type 2 Audit

The SAS 70 Type II Audit is a thorough audit which requires on-site inspection and in-person employee interviews to confirm that the controls presented are actually functioning as represented.  Audits are renewed on an annual basis as controls and conditions change to provide assurance that the verified controls have been maintained and remain effective.  SAS 70 Type II ensures MCT’s data is secure and protected.

Illinois Mortgage Banker Association

In its 101st year, the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association (IMBA) has stood as the state’s premier mortgage banking trade association comprised of companies and institutions whose business interests revolve around residential mortgage lending including mortgage bankers, mortgage brokers, community banks, national banks, credit unions and those providing services to mortgage lenders, including mortgage insurance companies, title insurance companies, attorneys, appraisers, credit bureaus, compliance and technology service providers and others.


Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO®) is the standards development body for the mortgage industry. MISMO developed a common language for exchanging information for the mortgage finance industry. Today, MISMO standards are accepted and deployed by every type of entity involved in creating mortgages, and they are required by most regulators, housing agencies and the GSEs that participate in the industry. Use of MISMO’s standards has been found to lower per loan costs, improve margins, reduce errors and speed up the loan process by reducing manual, paper-based processes while creating cost savings for the consumer. MISMO is a subsidiary of the Mortgage Bankers Association.


The Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers Association (RIMBA) is made up of professionals and companies involved with the mortgage lending industry and doing business in the State of Rhode Island. We promote fair and ethical lending practices and foster professional excellence among real estate finance employees through a wide range of educational programs and a variety of publications. We provide up-to-the minute news and information to our members so they are better able to meet the needs of their customers.


NAMMBA is a national trade association dedicated to the enrichment and betterment of women and minorities who work in the real estate finance industry.
